This is a beautiful fine brushed fabric in a deep indigo with caramel grid pattern. My daughter-in-law immediately asked for a shirt (and I also have plans for one for myself) I bought similar fabric last year from Core Fabrics and it became my son's favourite shirt. It is a lovely weight--a little dressier than your average flannel.
I used this denim to make the Sienna jacket and incorporated the selvedge edge into the design.
Lately I have been viewing the many RTW jackets available instore and online with an envious eye however as I had decided that I wanted several in the colour and cloth of my choosing, sewing my own would be the better option. After perusing the web for a pattern to fulfill that wish I spied the beautiful Jasike Blazer and after seeing the details and construction involved I decided it was definitely the jacket for me. Summer has come to Australia with all it's force now so the sewing part of the Jasike has sadly had to be put on hold while I await the cooler months to fulfill my blazer envy dream
