Fabric Suggestions From Core Fabrics
What You’ll Need:
- Suggested fabric:
- Light to midweight wovens and shirtings such as poplin, voile, batiste, chambray, tencel, linen, rayon challis, crepe de chine, voile, and flannel.
- Lightweight fabrics like rayon create a soft, drapey effect, while sturdier fabrics like poplin and linen create a more tailored, structured shirt.
- Additional supplies:
- Lightweight fusible interfacing
- 10" x 24" (25 x 61 cm) for View A
- 10" x 48" (25 x 122 cm) for View B
- Buttons for center front opening
- 5 x 1/2-5/8" (12–16 mm) for View A
- 9 x 1/2-5/8" (12–16 mm) for View B
- Optional: liquid seam sealant (e.g. fray stop, fray check) to finish buttonholes
- Thread in a matching colour
- Marking tool
