What You’ll Need:
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Outer fabric: Light- to midweight wovens and shirtings with good structure and some drape, such as broadcloth, chambray, oxford, suitings, shirtings, and linen.
Lining: Lightweight, silky fabrics such as rayon bemberg, charmeuse, and crepe de chine. If your fabric is light and soft enough, you may be able to use your outer fabric as the lining.
ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES
• Fusible interfacing
All Views: 1/2" (13mm) wide strips
View A + B: 0.7 yd (0.7 m)
• Cotton stay tape, 1.5 yd (1.4 m)
If you don’t have cotton stay tape, you can substitute it with the selvedge of a lightweight fabric
• Matching thread
• Elastic for inner loop, 1/4" (6 mm) wide x 2 1/2" (6.5 cm) long
If you don’t have elastic on hand, replace the inner loop with the cotton stay tape, a narrow ribbon or a strong thread chain
• Button, 1 x 3/8"-1/2" (10-13 mm) wide
• View C, Optional: D-rings, 2 x 1.5” (38 mm) wide
• Safety pin or tube turner, for turning ties right side out
