Relaxed with a tailored edge, the Eucalyptus Jumpsuit is a classic but playful, dressy but still easy to wear! Turn up the drama with the long version, or keep it casual as a playsuit. Eucalyptus features a lapel collar, button placket, and double-darted bodice and pants. The culotte-style pants are dramatic and incredibly comfortable with an elasticized waist, and the unique peek-a-boo back design is a head-turning but modest detail.

  • Version A is a sleeveless, full-length jumpsuit.
  • Version B is romper length with short sleeves.

FAQ

How do I print my PDF pattern?

All of our patterns come in a Letter/A4 format (for printing on a home printer) and 36"x48"/A0 format (for printing at a copyshop). Some patterns also come in a projector format. Please check the INFO+ tab under the description to see page counts and file formats available.

How do I download my PDF Pattern?

First, we suggest creating an account in our shop so you can access all your files in one place at any time!

After you place an order, you will land on a page with a custom download link. You can download your pattern then, or use the link included in the order confirmation sent via email. If you don’t receive a download link via email, please check your junk mail as it may have been rerouted (and add us to your safe senders list so it doesn't happen again!)

Am I charged for taxes?

All Canadians are charged GST and possibly PST depending on where they live in Canada. We do not charge taxes in the US.

Customers based in the EU and UK will also be charged VAT on all goods. Prices are VAT inclusive. Regulations have changed in recent years requiring VAT to be collected based on where the customer resides (and not where the company is located) so we are legally required to collect and remit VAT even though our company is based in Canada. You can read more about the VAT regulations here.

What currency will I be charged in?

Use the dropdown at the top of our menu to choose USD, CAD, AUD, GBP, or EUR dollars to view prices and checkout in the currency of your choice.

For AUD currency, the price you'll see is linked to the daily exchange rate between USD and your currency, which means prices may fluctuate. For our Canadian, EU and UK, customers, we have established set prices that will not vary with exchange rates.

What is your return policy?

We cannot issue refunds on digital goods like PDF patterns and courses if they have been downloaded or watched. If you have not downloaded your file and would like a refund, please contact us.

Great design -- issues with pattern/instructions

I still love the design of this jumpsuit. Unfortunately, the pattern and instructions make it challenging to realize the potential of the design. Thus, I still haven't finished a full jumpsuit. However, I have created two dresses based on the version A top and attempted a version B jumpsuit. If you look at the pics, you'll probably guess what happened...
Before I start with pattern issues, I just want to warn that the design seems to assume very much an hourglass figure. I have a very normal, nicely but not overly shaped figure, commercial European size 40, and I have to grade from size 40 (bust and hips) to 46 (waist). Not ideal, but doable.
Now to issues that should be addressed:
What makes the pattern advanced, in my opinion, is not so much the design itself but the lack of comprehensive instructions (I used the English version). Most of the instructions are vague (the pics only help occasionally) and some seem nonsensical. I could not make the Version A armholes work based on the instructions. So I undid the sides, and instead, used the classic burrito method for a clean finish. That was unfortunate, considering that the seam allowances are ideal for French seams. I also struggled with the fly instructions and eventually put them aside.
But what's worse: the pattern pieces for the Version B top are cut much shorter than for Version A without mentioning that anywhere in the description. I looked at your pics again and cannot make out a difference in top length, either. So tough luck if you rely on fitting experiences from using the Version A top.
I would really love to give this more stars, and I'll return once I've finished the jumpsuit I actually bought this pattern for. But for now: beware that you'll have to add a few unexpected extra considerations to make this work.

Hi Carola,

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback on the Eucalyptus pattern. I'm sorry you've encountered these challenges, and I appreciate your patience as you work through them.
- Regarding fit and grading:
You're right that the Eucalyptus does have a more fitted silhouette through the waist. Grading between sizes (as you've done from size 40 at bust/hips to 46 at waist) is absolutely the right approach for your body proportions, though I understand it adds complexity.
- Regarding instructions:
I'm sorry the instructions felt vague in places. We do have additional tutorial resources that might help clarify some of the construction steps—I'm happy to send you links to those if that would be helpful.
- Regarding the Version B bodice length:
I've just checked the pattern files, and the bodice length for Version A and Version B should actually be identical. The only difference between the two versions is the armhole shape—Version A has a sleeveless armhole, while Version B is designed to accommodate sleeves.
If your Version B bodice printed significantly shorter than Version A, this may have been a printing error. Could you double-check your test square to ensure the pattern printed at the correct scale? If there was a printing issue, that would explain the unexpected length difference.

Moving forward:
I'd love to help you get this jumpsuit finished! If you'd like to send photos of your fitting issues or discuss specific construction questions, please email us at support@closetcorepatterns.com and we'll work through it with you.
Thank you again for your honest feedback—it helps us understand where we can improve.
Best regards,

Sylvie

A fun sew.

I can’t express how much fun I had putting this together. It tickled my brain doing a 5/8” FBA on a double darted bodice.
I used an African wax print. Next time I will French seam the trousers. I love the out come and I have had many compliments when wearing it.

Jumpsuit

The pattern fitted well, only needed to make my usual short torso adjustment and made the sleeve hole slightly smaller. I’m an experienced sewer but struggled with the button fly instructions. Also didn’t like the collar method. Compared to closet core instructions these instructions are very brief! Happy with the overall result.
