The Magnolia Dress is sure to be a showstopper (while still being comfortable and easy to wear, the Deer&Doe trademark!) With its statuesque silhouette and killer neckline, the maxi length is ideal for formal events; the long skirt length and sleeves balance the depth of the mock-wrap neckline, and a slit adds interest and movement to the ample skirt. The shorter version is more casual and flirty with a unique butterfly sleeve and higher neckline. Both versions feature a bodice with princess seams, a structured waist, back tie, invisible zipper in the side seam, and flared + paneled skirt.
- Version A is maxi length with a low-cut bust and a long set-in sleeve.
- Version B is above knee length with a higher-cut neckline and fluttery butterfly sleeve.

How do I print my PDF pattern?
All of our patterns come in a Letter/A4 format (for printing on a home printer) and 36"x48"/A0 format (for printing at a copyshop). Some patterns also come in a projector format. Please check the INFO+ tab under the description to see page counts and file formats available.

How do I download my PDF Pattern?
First, we suggest creating an account in our shop so you can access all your files in one place at any time!
After you place an order, you will land on a page with a custom download link. You can download your pattern then, or use the link included in the order confirmation sent via email. If you don’t receive a download link via email, please check your junk mail as it may have been rerouted (and add us to your safe senders list so it doesn't happen again!)
Am I charged for taxes?
All Canadians are charged GST and possibly PST depending on where they live in Canada. We do not charge taxes in the US.
Customers based in the EU and UK will also be charged VAT on all goods. Prices are VAT inclusive. Regulations have changed in recent years requiring VAT to be collected based on where the customer resides (and not where the company is located) so we are legally required to collect and remit VAT even though our company is based in Canada. You can read more about the VAT regulations here.
What currency will I be charged in?
Use the dropdown at the top of our menu to choose USD, CAD, AUD, GBP, or EUR dollars to view prices and checkout in the currency of your choice.
For AUD currency, the price you'll see is linked to the daily exchange rate between USD and your currency, which means prices may fluctuate. For our Canadian, EU and UK, customers, we have established set prices that will not vary with exchange rates.
What is your return policy?
We cannot issue refunds on digital goods like PDF patterns and courses if they have been downloaded or watched. If you have not downloaded your file and would like a refund, please contact us.

I needed an outfit for a Bollywood themed event and wanted to use some sari fabric that I had been gifted. I had seen a dress on the internet made using sari fabric and the Magnolia dress so decided to do the same.
The pattern came together really well - I just needed to make the waistband a bit larger to fit my measurements. The style was perfect for the effect I wanted to create. The dress has a really flattering shape. The instructions are excellent.
This dress is super flattering, and a really lovely make; the instructions are clear and all together doesn’t take too long to put together.
I’ve made a few - one is my go-to wedding guest dress, and another was made for a friends wedding to wear as a bridesmaid. This is the pattern I always come back to.
Deer and Doe patterns always fit so well and Magnolia is no exception. I have to switch between three sizes but this is made so easy, the instructions are on point, the dress turned out perfectly, inside and out. I used the less revealing neckline with the long skirt and it’s so beautiful, I just have to make time for “special occasions“ to wear it.

Super elegant, I love the fact that it offers 2 neckline options. The instructions are very clear and I had no issues when sewing it. The result is amazing and I am definitely going to make more versions of it!
Absolutely love this pattern, I love that there are different versions. There are two different necklines, and you can mix it up with either short sleeves or long sleeves and make it in a short or long length. The great thing about this dress is, it’s a dress for all seasons, and can be sewn up in different weight woven fabrics. I love this dress, it’s my go to party dress. I’ve made it twice now in the short length, one for a party in the summer with short sleeves, and another for a Xmas party with long sleeves, worn with sparkly converse so I could dance the night away. I’ve also made it in a short sleeve long length version to wear for my best friends wedding, and I’m currently making Magnolia number 4 for ladies day at the races. I highly recommend this pattern to beginners and more experienced sewists, I was a beginner sewist when I made my first, and the instructions are clearly written and easy to understand. It’s my tried and trusted go to every time pattern.
