I've been sewing for 25 years, but never lingerie. This class has all the resources I've come to expect from Closet Core class offerings.

I thought Closet Core were overselling me when they discussed making one's own intimate wear as a form of self care, but I am telling you that when I put on my bralette to wear around the house for the first time, I cried with relief- actual tears.

There is a greater-than-ten-inch bounce from my waist to full chest- surely they can't teach me anything in this class that's going to make that bralette pattern fit me, right? Wrong! They did it. The fitting notes helped a lot, and when I asked for help, I got responses very quickly.

For the enbies: you might be thinking, surely a course on sewing underwear is going to trigger my gender dysphoria big time, right? No! Make something that makes YOU feel good, that reflects YOUR style. How often do you get that from the world? I went from wearing old, worn-out, painful bras because I couldn't stand the thought of acknowledging them as a garment I needed to making something that is comfortable, special, and just for me. I hope everyone gets to experience that.

Other Closet Core class offerings have been great, but this one actually changed my life. If you're wondering if you can do it, and if this class is worth it: you can, and it is.

Learn to Sew Lingerie | Sewing Class

I’ve always wanted to sew my own underwear. People sometimes ask me, when I tell them that I make all my own clothes... “Even your underwear?” Now I can answer, “Yes, even my underwear!” The pattern is so well constructed and Heather Lou’s teaching skill is emboldening. She made me feel like it was all going to work out, and by the end of the video I would have new underwear… and that’s just what happened. Now I know what I can do with all the knit scraps I have left-over from making a t-shirt or a turtle neck… just make a new pair of undies.

Hello! I recently purchased the lingerie class and I was so impressed with the instructions. I’m not new to making lingerie but this was the first time I had success from start to finish. I so appreciated the details of letting me know what stitch length is needed…this makes such a difference in the finish product. I also loved Heather the instructor. It was like taking a class from a friend. I haven’t made the bralette yet but I’m so delighted with the undies. I’ve made both versions and the fit is incredible. I’m looking forward to making the bralette over the holidays. Can not recommend this class enough especially if you are new to sewing lingerie, it’s the best instruction I have seen thus far. Well Done!
