Lately I have been viewing the many RTW jackets available instore and online with an envious eye however as I had decided that I wanted several in the colour and cloth of my choosing, sewing my own would be the better option. After perusing the web for a pattern to fulfill that wish I spied the beautiful Jasike Blazer and after seeing the details and construction involved I decided it was definitely the jacket for me. Summer has come to Australia with all it's force now so the sewing part of the Jasike has sadly had to be put on hold while I await the cooler months to fulfill my blazer envy dream
Love it, very informative!
Great bound buttonhole instructions. I came close (enough) to perfection on my first one. Thanks!
The drape of this fabric is beautiful, and it has a sort of glow. Forest Green is a particularly soulful colorway. For some magical reason, Textured Viscose Linen feels cool to the touch, even in warm weather. Because it is so fluid, I always cut on the full flat, never on the fold. I also hand-baste everything before I sew because of the active drape.
I have used this for several Hinterland dresses with great success. When I made a three-tiered Priya dress, the fluid hand insured that the many gathers would fall gracefully. Each Neha top I have made with Textured Viscose Linen has had structure and grace. All the colors are lovely.
I am really enjoying this class. I like how the construction process is demonstrated and how this process is challenging me to execute the sessions being demonstrated. The results are amazing and look very professional. Just what I was looking for.
This is a great kit and includes everything you need without shopping 5 different places. If you make a mistake, there is extra to re-cut, as I got a few things wrong.
