The Blanca Flight Suit is a semi-fitted, highly customizable boiler suit pattern inspired by vintage workwear. With multiple sleeve and leg options, it can be made in a variety of fabrics and can easily be styled up or down.

Blanca features a center front zipper, patch pockets that double as belt loops, an optional tie belt or buckled belt, a traditional shirt collar and a unique pleated back design. Customize your flight suit by adding a long sleeve, tapered sleeve with a snap button, or short sleeve. The leg is cut straight, with the option to crop it or taper at the hem with a leg tab. In addition, choose between a classic breast patch pocket or zippered pocket for added detail

Suggested Fabric

  • For a structured look, use sturdy woven fabrics like denim, twill, canvas and mid to heavyweight linen and cotton. For a softer effect, choose mid-weight fabrics with drape, such as tencel twill, cupro or silk noil.

FAQ

How do I print my PDF pattern?

All of our patterns come in a Letter/A4 format (for printing on a home printer) and 36"x48"/A0 format (for printing at a copyshop). Some patterns also come in a projector format. Please check the INFO+ tab under the description to see page counts and file formats available.

How do I download my PDF Pattern?

First, we suggest creating an account in our shop so you can access all your files in one place at any time!

After you place an order, you will land on a page with a custom download link. You can download your pattern then, or use the link included in the order confirmation sent via email. If you don’t receive a download link via email, please check your junk mail as it may have been rerouted (and add us to your safe senders list so it doesn't happen again!)

Am I charged for taxes?

All Canadians are charged GST and possibly PST depending on where they live in Canada. We do not charge taxes in the US.

Customers based in the EU and UK will also be charged VAT on all goods. Regulations have changed in recent years requiring VAT to be collected based on where the customer resides (and not where the company is located) so we are legally required to collect and remit VAT even though our company is based in Canada. You can read more about the VAT regulations here.

What currency will I be charged in?

Use the dropdown at the top of our menu to choose USD, CAD, AUD, GBP, or EUR dollars to view prices and checkout in the currency of your choice.

For AUD, GBP, and EUR currencies, the price you'll see is linked to the daily exchange rate between USD and your currency, which means prices may fluctuate. For our Canadian customers, we have established set prices that will not vary with exchange rates.

Shipping + Returns

Shipping

American customers: Packages in the US are shipped via USPS First Class and Priority Mail twice a week. Please allow 8 to 12 days for your parcel to arrive.

Canadian customers: Your orders are sent via Canada Post letter or parcel post. Please allow 8 to 12 days for your parcel to arrive, and wait up to 3 weeks before contacting us.

International customers: Estimated delivery dates are listed below the shipping price when you checkout. We have two possible services. International First Class is for packages under 2 kilos and takes approx 10-40 days to arrive depending on your location. International Priority is a bit faster and should arrive at your destination in approx 8-20 days. Both services include tracking for *most* destinations.

Order tracking

Most shipping services we offer come with a tracking number. This will be sent to you via email you once the order has been processed in our warehouse.

Given the huge volume of mail and the challenges that the pandemic, holiday season, and environmental conditions impose on the performance of the mail service, we ask you to please be patient with the delivery of your packages, and get in touch after 3 weeks for Canadian and US shipments, and 6 weeks for international shipments.

If the above mentioned waiting times have elapsed, please message us about your delay. We’ll be happy to work with you to figure out a solution.

Exchanges + Returns

For physical goods: We grant refunds for physical items like print patterns and kits if they are returned to us in sellable and unopened condition within 30 days of purchase. Please contact us prior to shipping back your order to make sure you are eligible for a refund.

For digital goods: We cannot issue refunds on digital goods like PDF patterns and courses if they have been downloaded or watched. If you have not downloaded your file and would like a refund, please contact us.

Love!

I've dreamed of sewing a boilersuit for myself and was never sure I would have the skills to do so. But after buying myself a machine a few months ago and seeing Blanca on Instagram, I knew I had to try. When I did quite understand the written instructions, the sew-a-long images were invaluable and clarified what to do. I have made two in quick succession, I adore them. I'm really proud of myself and learned so much. I plan on making a winter version when the weather cools.

Perfect

The pattern, as with all ClosetCore is so well written it came together with no hiccups.
I absolutely love the fit, industrial but also fitted. It’s very comfortable to wear and the top stitching can really make it pop. I took an inch out of the length of the top to get the rise correct because I am only 5’4. After toiling with elastic in the back I decided to go without for this version since I prefer the look with a belt.

Neat and cute!

One of my favourite jumpsuit patterns. I have tried lots of boiler suits but Blanca has the right details (eg. zip cover) and a great cut (ie. just-right crotch). I did have to make quite a few mods for my 157cm frame, and I did away with a back elastic because the extra bit of fabric at the back is essential for me to be able to move and sit comfortably. Instead of a workman or plumber, I look like an off-duty fashionista 🤪

A+ Jumpsuit

Great drafting, true to size, detailed instructions. It was easy to add to the rise for the perfect fit. I added some elastic in the back waistband for shaping and I love the finished look!

A sure fire winner!

I had reservations about this, not because of the pattern, but because I wasn't sure I could carry off a flight suit. So I decided to go short sleeves and short legs for my first go - less of the 'all over' look.
I toiled it very roughly first, cutting a 6, even though the measurements would put this on the small size for me. But my ginger jeans and sasha trousers in a 6 fit perfectly, so I went with it. And the fit is great! I took about 1cm out of the back (at the centre back fold), but other than that it fits perfectly with no alterations.
As with all CC patterns, the instructions are super clear and easy to follow. I don't follow them quite in order, but that's just personal preference. The construction is so lovely - it's so cleverly thought out.
The only thing I don't 'get' is the zipper shield. I don't see the point, and I think it looks odd. I just leave it out, and bind the edge of the zip at the top where it's visible.
I made my second version within 2 weeks of my first. The third version is going to be hot on its heels, and I'm ready to be brave enough for a full length (sleeve and leg) version for autumn.
The collar construction is the nicest I've seen. It comes together so well and sits nicely.

It's a pattern which I'd encourage anyone to have a go at. There's nothing scary in it. I would toile it just to check that you can sit down/bend over in it, but other than that, just go for it!
