I am lucky enough to come out of a weekend jean-making workshop with a completed pair of Ginger Jeans and love them. Are they perfect? No, but better than any purchased ones I own in that they *almost* fit. I had to shorten the rise by one inch in front which helped a lot. For the next pair - and there will be next pairS! - I will shorten the front rise another 1/2" (yes, I seem to have a freakishly short rise) and then fold out about 2" in the back to eliminate the bagginess there. Otherwise, the construction is great with all pieces matching so nicely, it's a pleasure to sew. I love the opportunity to topstitch where noted to make these look like the "real thing" (vs "loving-hands-at-home" look) and adding the rivets is the final kiss in making these look great.
Loved the pattern and class. I've never made a pair of jeans before. In fact, just about 2 years ago I mostly just learned to sew from YouTube videos....but I just LOVE sewing. I purchased the pattern & class along with the hardware kit. I learned so much. Step by step, I enjoyed the process. I finished my first pair of jeans and they actually fit pretty well (my next pair I have some adjustments that I'll try that were suggested in the tutorial). So, bottom line, the pattern and especially the class, were WELL worth the money. Prior to Ginger purchase, I've also purchased a few other ClosetCore patterns, also really liked those too! I give it 5 stars. Great for a newbie like me. Looking foward to trying the Jasinka blazer next! (PS, I'm wearing my Gingers now- they get a ton of wear even though they are my first jeans!). Thank you Closet Core Patterns!
Patron utilisé pour realiser mon 1er jeans et il est terminé et portable donc je recommande ce patron à tout le monde. Un petit bemol pour ajuster exactement la fourche sur moi, je n'ai pas trouvé les explications...
I used the Closet Core video series to help me make my Ginger Jeans. The video tutorials are SUPERB! Very clear instructions, great filming so I could see every step. I loved every minute of making these jeans and learning how to get that great fit. Recommendations galore! great job Close Core Patterns!
I made the straight leg jeans. They are fantastic and fit beautifully. I think the detailed instructions made all the difference.
I bought this pattern, because I loved the general shape with a high-waist, and knew I could use them as a starting point for the wide leg, cropped jeans in fashion right now. It took some trial and error, but I am so happy I dove in! The pattern is very easy adjust and the instructions easy to follow. I will definitely be making more with varying leg shapes.
