This was a good pattern. I made the maxi dress. I just have one small complaint that I was able to figure out. That is that the notches weren’t very well labeled on the pattern so you would know what they are for. A suggestion would be to use the large and small dots that the old fashioned pattern pieces use in addition to the notches. Another bit of advice is to label the pattern pieces as you cut them out. I wrote notes on a little piece of paper and pinned it to the pattern piece as I cut. The dress came out really nice.
Hi Verna, thank you for your helpful feedback! We're glad you’re happy with the dress. You might have disabled the TEXT layer, as the labels and some notches are in that layer. We appreciate your suggestions and hope your future projects turn out just as lovely!
So far, I have made only a muslin. Pattern lends itself nicely to French seams, my preferred seam finishing method. Fit is good and flattering, back is not baggy (I am plus sized). However, I will have to shorten the front crotch length considerably (as in all pant patterns) and do not know yet how to proceed. Taking out a wedge at the marked position does not work for me, because it results in forward slanting side seams. I will try and chop it off from the waistline, even if the pattern pieces get a strangely wavy waistline shape.
By the way - I made a knee length muslin of view A, it would work perfectly as Bermuda shorts.
SOOO HELPFUL, truly could not completed the blazer without it. I have been sewing garments for a while but have never tailored anything and was so nervous to start. The class helped me build confidence and taught me so many helpful hints. I really appreciated the teacher explaining why we were doing certain things because that helps me learn and retain the information for later projects!
