Designed for stretch denim, our Ginger Jeans are a comfortable and super versatile wardrobe staple. A classic five-pocket design with professional-looking details, you’ll want to wear them every day.

View A features a low rise, straight "stovepipe" leg and traditional fold-over front pockets. View B has a high rise, skinny leg and pocket stay sewn into center front.

Please note: View A of Ginger in sizes 14-32 is closer to a mid-rise. In addition, the PDF version of this pattern includes bonus pattern pieces for interchangeable leg shapes with both rises.

Ginger jeans

I’m am absolutely in love with this pattern.
I have been on a mission to make my own jeans for about a year now, this is the pattern that has best worked for me.
I’m not an expert by any means just a mom/grandma that likes to sew and got back into a few years ago. I have never made jeans before and the first few were a struggle to say the least.
But with this pattern and Heathers teachings I think I finally can do it.
Thank you Closet core for all your help!

The Ginger Jeans pattern fit as described. Worked well for my design plans. Instructions were clear. Was overall happy with the pattern.
Largest complaint (if that) rather expensive to print the entire pattern. Would be nice if the pieces had a bit tighter fit on the master.
However, I will definitely buy from Core again because of the fit.

Great pattern and fit!

First time making jeans and I love them. They look professional and fit perfectly. I made them in a class so it was far less intimidating. Starting 2nd pair on my own!

Clear pattern

The closet core patterns are very clear and easy to understand. I like the way of making the fly front zipper.
I made the high rise, straight legs model.
The shape is good for me . I chose 2 different sizes for the waist and hips and adjusted the seam allowance at the hips. And it fits perfectly. Given the fact that the fabric I chose is not stretch enough , it’s ok.
With a more stretchy fabric I think I should go for a size down.
Just one remark : as French speaking I started with the French version but found some incoherences (not a lot but it was a bit confusing), so I switched to the English version and it was ok then.
I will definitely make another one asap.
I really loved the patterns for the back pockets top stitching :-)

Great pattern to use in a workshop

I am lucky enough to come out of a weekend jean-making workshop with a completed pair of Ginger Jeans and love them. Are they perfect? No, but better than any purchased ones I own in that they *almost* fit. I had to shorten the rise by one inch in front which helped a lot. For the next pair - and there will be next pairS! - I will shorten the front rise another 1/2" (yes, I seem to have a freakishly short rise) and then fold out about 2" in the back to eliminate the bagginess there. Otherwise, the construction is great with all pieces matching so nicely, it's a pleasure to sew. I love the opportunity to topstitch where noted to make these look like the "real thing" (vs "loving-hands-at-home" look) and adding the rivets is the final kiss in making these look great.

Loved the pattern and class. I've never made a pair of jeans before. In fact, just about 2 years ago I mostly just learned to sew from YouTube videos....but I just LOVE sewing. I purchased the pattern & class along with the hardware kit. I learned so much. Step by step, I enjoyed the process. I finished my first pair of jeans and they actually fit pretty well (my next pair I have some adjustments that I'll try that were suggested in the tutorial). So, bottom line, the pattern and especially the class, were WELL worth the money. Prior to Ginger purchase, I've also purchased a few other ClosetCore patterns, also really liked those too! I give it 5 stars. Great for a newbie like me. Looking foward to trying the Jasinka blazer next! (PS, I'm wearing my Gingers now- they get a ton of wear even though they are my first jeans!). Thank you Closet Core Patterns!
