Part of our Rome Collection, the Cielo Dress & Top is an easy, breezy take on a boxy tee and shift dress. Loaded with interesting details and interchangeable features, it will fast become a wardrobe-building favourite.

Choose between a semi-cropped top with a cuffed short sleeve (View A) or a dramatic gathered long sleeve (View B). Or, make an easy-fitting dress with sleek inseam pockets (View C), or without pockets (View D). All views have a slightly dropped shoulder, angled shoulder yoke and roomy fit, with a choice between an elegant bias binding or a faced neckline finish.

Great Wardrobe Builder

The Cielo Top is simple but still interesting thanks to the bust dart in the front, shoulder detail in the back and cuffed sleeve. I like the neckline as it's not to big but not too small. I find this top works well with my high waisted pants and I just love it in linen. I've made several already!

Cielo dress

I did make this dress and it was very easy! I haven’t been able to wear it yet as I broke my ankle in March so haven’t been able to dress up!

Excellent Fit

I absolutely love the Pietra shorts and pants pattern. I have sewn several shorts and one
pants. Also,, I recently made the Elodie dress. I am in love with this dress and the fit
is perfect. Keep up the great work and keep producing your wonderful patterns.

Great beginner-friendly pattern

I've only made the View A top so far, but it went smoothly and was easy to follow, even for a beginner sewist like me who had to look up tutorials for things like darts and slip stitching. I was between sizes, but sizing up gave me a good fit across the shoulders. The included instructions for grading seams, basting, and using interfacing were all clear and easy to follow. Even doing the sleeves and cuffs wasn't too painful for my first attempt.

I'm looking forward to trying the dress and more tops, and experimenting with different fabrics to get different looks. I'm not sure if it was my fabric choice, my low skill level, or the pattern, but even for a boxy top it did feel pretty roomy in comparison to how well the shoulders fit. I would make it an inch or so longer next time. But it's a cute and modern pattern, and it'll be fun to work with again in the future.

Please include UK and Euro sizing as US sizing is quite different and may lead to disappointing results.
