Inject a little bohemian glamour into your wardrobe with the Nicks Dress + Blouse. In multiple variations with soft gathering and delicate details, it's satisfying to make and a pleasure to wear.

All views feature a loose-fitting V-necked bodice with a gently gathered shoulder and yoke. The slightly puffed sleeve is gathered at the shoulder; choose between a short sleeve, or a long sleeve with wrist pleats for shaping and an elastic gathered cuff. You may also choose between two interchangeable neckline finishes: a simple facing, or a bias-bound neckline with delicate rouleau button loops and buttons. View A is a button-front dress with a comfortable elastic waist, long or short sleeves, and three gathered skirt tiers. View B is a voluminous swing tunic with a gathered hip tier and long or short sleeves. View C is an elegant blouse with a faced neckline and long or short sleeves.

How do I download my PDF Pattern?

First, we suggest creating an account in our shop so you can access all your files in one place at any time!

After you place an order, you will land on a page with a custom download link. You can download your pattern then, or use the link included in the order confirmation sent via email. If you don’t receive a download link via email, please check your junk mail as it may have been rerouted (and add us to your safe senders list so it doesn't happen again!)

Am I charged for taxes?

All Canadians are charged GST and possibly PST depending on where they live in Canada. We do not charge taxes in the US.

Customers based in the EU and UK will also be charged VAT on all goods. Regulations have changed in recent years requiring VAT to be collected based on where the customer resides (and not where the company is located) so we are legally required to collect and remit VAT even though our company is based in Canada. You can read more about the VAT regulations here.

What currency will I be charged in?

Use the dropdown at the top of our menu to choose USD, CAD, AUD, GBP, or EUR dollars to view prices and checkout in the currency of your choice.

For AUD, GBP, and EUR currencies, the price you'll see is linked to the daily exchange rate between USD and your currency, which means prices may fluctuate. For our Canadian customers, we have established set prices that will not vary with exchange rates.

Easy to make and great fit!

Cynthia S.
Such a feminine dress!

I usually make a size 16 in Closet Core Patterns, but I after I looked at the finished measurements, I sized down to a 14. It worked perfectly for me. Because I had the ideal fabric before the pattern came out, I had to make some modifications. I made the skirt with only 2 tiers, and I added length to the lower tier so it is about an inch or so below my knees. I cut the skirt sections by the measurements instead of using the pattern pieces, as it allowed me to pull a thread and cut on the drawn thread so I had straight pieces. I gathered and sewed the front lower tier to my front top tier as it's easier than handling gathers in a circle. I did the same for the back, and then sewed the front and back together at the sides. (I used this technilque years ago when I made dresses for my girls.) I only had to join the skirt to the bodice in a circle. I hemmed the skirt with a narrow topstitched hem. I added another inch to the short sleeve and I also hemmed it with a narrow topstitched hem. I simply did not have enough fabric for long sleeves. I have sewn lined yokes with the burrito method before and it really is easy. I took my time when sewing this dress and it really is fun to sew. The fit was perfect, I do have to wear a camisole under it because the neck is a little low for me. On a recent window shopping expedition, I have seen variations of the Nicks in seeveral shops. My new favorite pattern. Not difficult, just take your time.

So many pretty possibilities

Love that pattern. It’s such a cute blouse and lovely dress.

Beautiful blouse

The Nicks blouse was easy to sew, fit perfectly and was lovely and draped using a viscose from Core fabrics.

Love love love

Love this dress. So easy to hack to get different looks.
The yoke is a bit tricky but would be fine for anyone that’s done the burrito method before. This is a poly chiffon fabric and it worked so well! I made my tester with rayon and realised I need to take 3 inch off the bodice bottom. It worked a treat!

Versatility and Clarity

I appreciate the clear sewing instructions and the fact that they are presented on good paper in booklet form. It makes it so much easier to store and reuse. The pattern itself can be used many times with summer weight to winter weight fabrics. I especially like the blouse pattern. It can be dressed up or down, and is ripe for embellishment. An altogether versatile pattern which I will use many times.
