This course hits the right balance between giving you enough content to get started without overwhelming you. I also really appreciated that the class starts with things like how to pick a sewing machine, what tools to buy, etc before jumping into sewing. It is truly a beginner course and doesn’t assume that you already have your supplies or know anything about sewing.
I've sewn for a number of years, but I do more sewing for costumes than for regular wearable clothing. I took this class to up level my skills for a more sturdy, finished, and polished look. The class helped me increase my confidence and I'm looking forward to taking the blazer class next!
I'm so glad I decided to enroll in the Learn To Sew Clothing course. Heather is an excellent teacher; not only does she really know her stuff, her passion for the subject shines through. This course is more than great value for the money, it's a bargain.
I have recently returned to garment sewing after a 3 decade break. I was mostly new to independent patterns although I had used some waaaay back when I made my daughter hand smocked garments. So I felt that this serious would help me brush up on my sewing skills and be a good intro to indie patterns. It delivered! And I learned so much that I never knew (I now know how to properly press a seam)! The info on sewing tools & other resources was also very helpful. I have enjoyed the patterns (thank goodness for the video helping with doing the Pietra pockets!)
This class is unbelievable. When I started I literally only knew how to threat my machine. By the end I had made so many pieces I was proud of! Now I watch design shows and giggle when people don’t know how to sew a French seem! The class focuses on practical skills and knowledge that can get you seeing clothes quickly! If you’re debating this.. don’t! Just take it and be amazed!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Learn how to sew class! Heather is a phenomenal teacher; her lessons are clear, engaging and inspiring. She instilled the confidence and the knowledge I needed to begin my sewing journey. I love the patterns included in the course and I see myself making many versions of these garments as they are so classic and wearable. I will be back for more classes for sure!

Used for a 3/4 coat, this fabric has proven to be a winner. The edges were left raw; they were top stitched and are stable. I did use tissue paper when top stitching. After a week of heavy use, the coat shows no area where it is stretch out. I'm a huge fan of this fabric in any unlined garment.
I am excited to make a kimono style wrap. Colors are very nice and pleasing.
I love this fabric and will be making a tnt coat soon. I will use navy cotton binding on the seams and edges.
Very nice fabric.
I’m excited to make something wonderful with this fabric.
Beautiful quality and good color accuracy - I got Moss and it turned out to be only a little darker and more cooler-toned than in the photos. I used it to make the Cielo top with long sleeves and the shirt feels so elegant and comfy. However, as a beginning sewist it was challenging to work with since it's so light and stretchy. It also seems to wrinkle pretty easily.
This fabric is AMAZING, finished my Makers Jacket 2 weeks ago, the fabric worked up nicely and has an amazing little bit of stretch- just right!!! Love my D rings, they are perfect for the jacket, the color, the size- when I did have a little issue with a mark within the fabric Core quickly expedited me a new piece so I could continue! Wonderful service!
