I absolutely love this Stretch denim and would have rated it 10 stars, except it is off grain. I've tried multiple times, with help to straighten the grain with no luck. Fortunately, the skort I made had no problems and hangs beautifully! I am going to try to straighten the grain one more time with the fabric wet. I want to make jeans from the remainder of the denim and I'm concerned the if the grain isn't straight the leg might twist.
I bought this pattern because many reviews said the instructions were so easy to understand there were a couple of parts that took me a little while to figure out but once I did it made sense. I was so nervous about the sleeve placket but it ended up being kinda fun. I wanted a looser fit so I sized up and did not add any darts and it fits exactly how I wanted, the second shirt (yellow) I whipped up in about 1/2 the time. I am so excited to make more, the possibilities are endless I love how you can mix and play with pattern, the pockets, yokes, collar. This was my first successful garment that I made with a pattern that is actually wearable yay! Oh yeah first time making my own piping, such a fun detail!
I have yet to see the organic cotton double gauze, but I have laundered it and it was super lofty and soft out of the dryer. I know I’ll love the top I have in mind for it!
So soft and luxurious
